Merry Monday Christmas Challenge 261: Add an ornament

Now is that time of year when most of us have been busily working on Christmas cards and gifts, and to tell you the truth, I've been working on things off and on since January, and I'm probably not as far along as I'd hope to be, but I'm sure I'll make it. For this Merry Monday Christmas Challenge, we are to submit a card that has an ornament featured on it, and as luck would have it, I had several, the only hard part was choosing one for this challenge. This is the one I decided on.

The images I chose for this card where from the Bright Spirits stamp set, by Verve. I embossed 3 of the ornaments and also embossed the sentiment using gold embossing powder. The branch is from another stamp set I had in my stash that I don't have the name for at present. To color the ornaments, I used Gelly Roll gel pens to add some color and sparkle, which is hard to see in the photo.

I really love the way this card turned out, and I did make a few of them using different ornaments and colors. I hope the recipients enjoy them as much as I did making them.

Christmas Card Throwdown 16

Hi everyone, I know it's hard to think about making Christmas cards when it's almost 100 degrees outside, but I have been doing them off and on since January, along with other Christmas projects for gifts and such. I decided to use one of the cards that I just made for the current challenge at CCT, which is to create a card using either heat or dry embossing.

The card I made features the Holiday Bunnies stamp set by Memory Box. For the embossing, I used the Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder, and for the snowbank, I used a snowflake embossing folder from Darice. I colored the images with Copic markers, and added stickles to the lights and snowbank for a little shine.

Thanks for taking a look, and please leave me a comment, I love to hear what everyone thinks.

Oooops...one more! MFT Camp Create: Awesome Ombre

I forgot, I have one more. I was waiting for the Glossy Accents to dry, so I could add my sentiment, and forgot to post it...lol!

This challenge is to use the ombre technique.

For this card, I decided to make an underwater scene using the ombre techneque for the water, starting off dark at the bottom, and getting lighter at the top, as if the sun where shining from above. I heat embossed bubbles from the Hero Arts Sea Life stamp set, and then added Glossy accents to the middle of each bubble. For the fish, I used one of the fish stamps from the same set, stamped them in purple and pink, cut them out, and attached them to the card with dimensional tape. I didn't have a stamp with the words I wanted to use, so I typed them out and cut them out with one of the label dies from the MFT Tag Builder Blueprint 6 die set, and inked the edges with the same ink I used for the ombre background. I didn't know what I wanted to put on the inside, because I'm not sure what I'm going to use it for, so I left it as is, and will add to the sentiment inside when I use it.

MFT Camp Create: Delightful Die Cutting

For the last activity for this camp session is to create something with die cuts.

My grandson needed a birthday card for one of his friends, so I made this birthday card that was more on the masculine side. I cut the largest star from one of the stars from the Spellbinder's star die set, and the smaller ones from a confetti die set that I have. The circle was made from the MFT Inside/Out circle die set. Happy Birthday was from stamps I had in my stash.

I really loved participating in this summer's camp create challenges, and I really hope they have it next year!

MFT Camp Create: Monochromatic Magic

Today's Camp Create challenge is to create something using monochromatic colors.

Here is my creation for this challenge. The striped background was made using the Just Rite Ticking Stripe background stamp. The snowflakes are from the Simon Says Stamp Marisa snowflake die. The stitched white rectangle is from the MFT Inside/Out rectangles, which I added some red inking to the edges to add to the monochromatic effect. The ribbon was some ribbon I had in my stash that I thought would go nicely.

Now on to the next day!

MFT Camp Create: Background Bonanza

Hi everyone, here we are with day three's challenge at the MFT's Camp Create, which is, Background Bonanza.

For my background, I used a stencil that I received from a stencil and stamp set form Recollections. I used blue and purple ink to ink the stencil. For my image, I used stamps from the MFT's stamp set, Beary Special Birthday.

MFT Camp Create: Magnificent Masking

Here we are with day to of this week's Camp Create.

Today's challenge is to make a project using the masking technique.

I have been trying to get a jump on my Christmas card stash, so I decided to make this one to add to it. I used a curved stencil that I made from a curved die to use a mask to make the snow drifts, then added little trees that I embossed with white glittery embossing powder. I made a card like this before, and I really loved the effect.

My Favorite Things Camp Create: Inlaid Made Easy

Hi everyone, here we are once again for a fun time at MFT Camp Create.

Today's challenge is to make a project using the inlaid techneque. The card I made is a birthday card made from the MFT Stitched Banner Alphabet, and heart balloon dies.

This card was a lot of fun to make. I always loved the effect of inlaid dies.

Now off to my card for the next day.

MFT Camp Create day 5: Glitzy Glitter

For the final challenge of the MFT Camp Create the theme is Glitzy Glitter.

For this card, I  used a butterfly from the Spellbinder's die set Les Papillions, and applied glitter using the glitter techneque that was shown in the video for this challenge. I used ovals from the MFT In and Out Stitched Oval die set, and made a sentiment strip from the MFT Stitched Sentiment Strips die set, and added a sentiment from a stamp I had in my stash. I sure love how this butterfly turned out, it is so pretty and sparkly, I wish you could see it in real life.

I really had a lot of fun with this Camp Create session and I sure hope they have another one before the end of the summer.

MFT Camp Create: Bonfire

Print

For an extra bonus challenge, MFT added a bonfire challenge to day 4 of the Camp Create challenges. The challenge for this one is Divine Cry Embossing.

For my embossed background piece I used DMC Shimmer card stock, and the Ogee embossing folder from The Paper Studio. For my oval, I layered 3 different ovals from the MFT In and Out Stitched Ovals, and using the techneque featured on the video for this challenge I made my oval background piece. The balloons are from the MFT Birthday Balloons die set, and where cut out of glitter paper. The gifts where from the MFT Beary Special Birthday stamp set, The sentiment strip was from the MFT Stitched Sentiment Strips die set, and the sentiment was also from the Beary Special Birthday stamp set.

Now it's off to my final entry for the final day of this challenge.

MFT Camp Create: Sensational Sliders

Today's challenge is to make a slider card, and here is the card that I made for this challenge.

To make my card I basically followed the directions featured in the video for this challenge, I did not have the die they used, so I had to use a craft knife. For the trees I used the MFT Trees in the Forest die, and for the rest of the elements I used some other various dies and punches that I had in my stash. This card was a little challenging for me because I had to use a craft knife to cut the sliding panel out, and the layers where kind of thick, and I made a bit of a mess of the bottom cut on my first try, so I had to remake my bottom hill, and then I was successful with my cutting.

I hope you enjoy my slider card, and I will see you on the next challenge.

Camp Create: Spectacular Shakers

I know I'm running a little late on this one, but Wednesday's challenge is one of my favorite card techniques, shaker cards. Here is the card that I made for this challenge.

I really love making shaker cards, and I loved making this one. See you for the next challenge!

Camp Create: Remarkable Resist

Today's challenge for MFT's Camp Create is Remarkable Resist, and here is my entry for this challenge.

For the embossed resist background that I made I used the MFT's Diamonds and Dots Border stamp set, using heat embossing with white embossing powder for the diamond back ground, then inked it with blue and purple ink using an inking tool. For my images, I used the bear with the balloon and gift stamps from the MFT's Beary Special Birthday stamp set. I used my Scor-Pal for the scored lines on the right side edge of my card.

Join me next time when I post my creation for the next challenge.

MFT Camp Create : Wonderful Watercolor

The folks at My Favorite Things are doing the Camp Create challenge again this summer, and of course I just had to join in. Today's challenge is to make something using watercolor. Here is the card that I made for the challenge.

I made a watercolor background using some shimmery watercolors that I have, and used that for my sky background that I placed my clouds, made from the End Of The Rainbow Die-namics die set from MFT, and the dragons and sentiment from the MFT Magical Dragons stamp set. You can't see it in the picture, but I added some sparkle on the pink parts of the momma dragon and some of the parts of the baby dragon with my Wink Of Stella clear brush marker, and little dabs of Stickles for the stars in the sky.

See you tomorrow when I enter my project for Tuesday's challenge.
