Card A Day Blog Post: Christmas Thank You

Hi there, thanks for stopping by. Today I have a card I made for the Card A Day Blog theme for this week, which is Christmas Thank You.

To make my card, I started off using a 5.5" x 4.25" white card base. For my background paper, I used a snowflake patterned paper from Hot Off The Press, cut to 5.25" x 4", and adhered that to the front of my card base. For my image, I used the penguin stamp from the Gina K Stamps stamp set, Wishing You Joy. I just love this little guy. I stamped him on white card stock, using black ink, colored his scarf with a blue Copic marker, and his beak and feet in orange, then cut him out.

To frame my penguin, I also stamped the frame from the same stamp set in blue on white card stock, then cut the middle out using a round Spellbinders die that fit the middle of the the frame. I attached the frame to the front of my card base with dimensional tape, then I attached the penguin with dimensional tape as well, placing it in the middle of the frame.

For my " Thank You " sentiment, I used a stamp from my stash of stamps, and using blue ink, I stamped it on white card stock, cut it to size, then inked around the edges.  I placed it to the right side of my images with dimensional tape.

I thought my card needed a little sparkle, so I added little dabs of Crystal Stickles randomly on top of the stamped frame. If you look very close, you will see it.

I hope you like my latest card, and that you leave me a comment and let me know what you think. I always love to hear what people think of my creations. CADB Post: Christmas Ornament Card

Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by. The holidays are fast approaching and it's time to get started on all the holiday cards that we need to get done. How time flies! This week's theme at the Card A Day Blog is, Christmas Ornaments. Here is the card I made.

I just love snowflakes, and I have quite a few on this one. To start with I used a 5.5" x 4.25 inch white card base. For my embossed background, I used a piece of white card stock, cut to 3.5" x 4.75", and embossed it with the Spellbinders Embossabilities folder, Holiday Magic, and matted it with a piece of blue card stock cut to 3.75" x 5". I added that piece to the top of my card base.

For my ornament embellishment, I used the third and fourth dies from the Spellbinders Die set, 2010 Heirloom Ornament. I used my Cuttlebug to cut and emboss each piece, then I stamped snowflakes on them using one of the various snowflake stamps that I have, and a blue ink pad. I inked the edges with the same blue ink, and stacked them up using dimensional tape. I added this piece to the top of the embossed background piece.

I thought it needed a little sparkle, so I dotted the snowflakes on the ornament and in the embossed pattern on the white background with Crystal Stickles. It really added a beautiful sparkle to the card. I think Crystal Stickles have got to be my favorite Stickles variety, because it really does add a beautiful sparkle to whatever you put it on.

I hope you enjoyed checking out my card, and that you leave me a comment, and let me know what you think about it. I always love hearing what others think of my creations.
