Card A Day Bog Post: Baby

Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by. It's my turn today to post a card for this weeks Card A Day Blog theme "Baby".

To make my card, I first started off with a 5.50" x 4.25" white card base. I cut a piece of yellow card stock at 5.24" x 4" and embossed it with my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder, then I adhered it to the front of my card base.

I then cut strips of ribbon from the March 2012 Really Reasonable Ribbon ribbon club, and one strip of ribbon from different manufacturer, and adhered them vertically across the card front.
I decided to use this cute little elephant, Emery, from Verve Stamps as my image. I stamped it on a piece of white card stock using black ink, then colored the image with Copic markers, C-0, C-2, and C-3. I then cut it out using the 4th largest die from the Spellbinders Standard Circles (LG) set. I decided I wanted a frame for my image, so I used the 3rd largest Spellbinders Picot Edge Circle on a piece of pink card stock to cut out a frame. I used dimensional tape to adhere my image to my decorative circle. I then placed this piece on top of the strips of ribbon. I added some tiny buttons that I had in my collection to add a little accent to my card.

As for a sentiment  I decided to wait till I was ready to use it, so I would know more about what type of message I wanted to convey.

I hope you enjoyed checking out my latest card creation. I really had a good time making it, and I was pleased with the way it turned out. Now I just have to wait for someone to have a baby, so I can give it to them...lol! Please leave me a comment if you have a chance, I always love to hear what you think. Also, remember to check out the Card A Day Blog every day, for some great card making inspirational  and don't forget to check out our monthly challenge for a chance to win a wonderful prize!

Card A Day Blog Entry: Red, White, and Blue

The theme this week at the Card A Day Blog is Red, White, and Blue, and here is my entry, inspired by Mojo Monday designer, Debbie Carriere. Here is my take on her creation.

How I made my card:

First, I started off with a 5.5"x4.25" white card base, then I added a piece of red and white striped patterned paper, 5.25"x4" to the front of the card. I then cut out a piece of white card stock, 4.75"x2.25", and attached it on top of a piece of blue and white star patterned paper that measures 5.25"x2.75", I then attached that to my red and white striped paper.

For embellishments, I made four banners using the same star patterned paper that I used for the mat, placed them going in alternating directions, and then added a red button with a piece of red and white baker's twine tied into it, and placed them on the ends of the banners.

For my sentiment, I stamped the words " Thank You" on a piece of white card stock, cut around it, then added it to a mat using the same star patterned paper. I place it at the bottom of my card in the middle.

This card will be sent with my next shipment of cards to Operation Write Home, and be used for an Any Hero Card.

As always, I would like to know what you think of my card, so if you have the time, please leave me a comment. Also, if you like challenges, please stop by our blog and enter our monthly challenge. We offer a prize to one lucky winner each month.
