A Goodbye Gift and Card

Shortly after finishing the stocking for the co-worker mentioned in the precious post, she anounced that her husband was moving out of state, because he was offered a job there. She collects pigs, so I decided to crochet her a little pig for a going away gift, and a card to go with it. I sure hope this little pig likes his new home.

My former co-worker has also found a new job in the area that they moved to, and I wish her and her husband great success in their new lives.

Christmas Stocking

I have been pretty busy these past few months with quite a few projects, not all of them are cards. One of them was a stocking I made for a co-worker to give to her husband for Christmas. I made her one last year, and she thought it would be nice if her husband had one as well.

Although it took a long time to make, I really enjoyed doing it, and I was happy with the results. I was actually sorry to have to part with it...lol! If you would like to make one of your own, you can find the kit here at Herrschners.com. Thanks for stopping by.

52 Christmas Throwdown Color Challenge

This week at 52 Christmas Throwdown the challenge is to use the colors green and purple. I chose to use one of the sketches out of the 52 Christmas Throwdown sketch archive, and here is the sketch I used.

Here is the card I made using the sketch.

The stamps I used for my creation are from the Penny Black stamp set, " Most Wonderful". I stamped the ornament image 3 times, once in green, and 2 times in purple. I used one of the purple images for the base image, I cut out the ribbon and the clock face out of the green, attached the ribbon with dimensional tape, and used double sided tape for the clock face. I then cut out the snowflake and hands from the other purple image, and adhered it to the top of the face with dimensional tape. I made the layered band using a snowflake punch that I have in my stash, layered them, and attached them to the card base before I added my image. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set. I had all those little snowflakes left over after punching the border, so I added them  to the card as well, adding Jewel Dazzles to the middle of them.

I really liked the way this card turned out, so I made a couple more. I really like this color combination, it isn't exactly traditional, but they do look lovely on the card.

Mojo Monday 422

For this post I made an entry for this week's Mojo Monday challenge. The first week of the month is prize week, and we all love prizes!

Here is another one of those cute little reindeer form the Mama Elephant's Reindeer Games stamp set. I made the scalloped circle from a scalloped circle Spellbinders die, the design paper is from DCWV's Christmas Combo Matstack, and the ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

52 Christmas Card Throwdown

Hello everyone, yes, it's that time of year again when we're all thinking about Christmas, and all those cards we need to get finished to send out before the big day. I, myself, have been pretty busy. I have recently discovered a great site that I've found for lots of Christmas card insperation, 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. Each week they have great challenges, and this month they are also having a design team call. This week is a sketch challenge.

Here is the card I created using this week's sketch.

I made my card using one of my newest favorite stamp sets, Mama Elephant's Reindeer Games. I just love this stamp set, the little reindeer are so cute, with all their adorable poses. I know I'll be using this one a lot. The designer paper is from the DCWV Winter Matstack, and the die cuts are from Spellbinders. Although you can't see it very well in the photo, I dotted the die cut snowflake, and the snowflakes on the background paper with Crystal Stickles, which I think adds a nice little touch of bling to the card.

Mojo Monday 414

Hi everyone. I know, I haven't posted in quite some time, but here I am with a Mojo Monday challenge.  Here is the sketch for this week.

Here is the card that I made for this week's challenge.

I decided to make a Christmas card, since we are fast approaching that time a year, and I know I will be needing lots of them...lol! Hopefully I will be doing a bit better on posting, and sharing what I create this up coming season.

OWH: June Mid-Month Throwdown

For this months mid-month throw down challenge we where asked to use at least one banner on a card. Here is one of the cards I came up with for this challenge.

My card was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest, here. the actual website doesn't seem to be working correctly, so I'm not clear on who to give credit to, but I did really like this layout, so I decided to make my own card using it as a guide. I made three cards using this layout, and I'll be sending them off with my last box of cards for OWH. I had a few banners left, so I made a couple more cards with a different layout, that I will also add to my shipment.

I really love using banners, and was glad to see this challenge.

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone, I know it's been a while, but hopefully I'll get in a few posts while I'm enjoying summer break. For this post, I'm featuring a card that I made for the My Favorite Things Card Sketch Challenge, using the sketch provided.

Since I have been busy making cards for Operation Write Home, and one of the themes I'm making cards for it Christmas, I decided to use stamps from the MFT Jingle All The Way stamp and die sets, which I absolutely fell in love with, and just had to have!

Don't you just love this happy Santa? How can anyone resist bringing him home...lol! I really enjoyed coloring him and the cute little tree that is included in the set. I added some Jewel Dazzles, to add a little sparkle to the tree and ribbon.

My Top 14 OWH cards for 2014

Displaying

Happy New Year everyone! Operation Write Home is having a blog hop of the cards we feel are our top cards that we have made for OWH. I went through the cards that I have made for OWH, and took pictures of, and here are my top 14 choices.

I think it was very hard to choose, for different reasons, and I really wish I would have taken more pictures, because I know there are probably some that I have sent that I like even more. Maybe that can be my New Year resolution for this year, or one of many...lol! Anyway, I hope you enjoy looking at them, as much as I enjoyed making them, and hopefully 2015 will be a great one! I would also like to add that I feel so fortunate to be able to participate in such a worth while cause, and am thankful for the opportunity to do my little part in making the lives of others just a little brighter every time they receive one of my cards. Thanks Operation Write Home!
