Card A Day Blog Entry: Autumn

Hi everyone, here is another card I created for the Card A Day Blog, continuing with this week's theme  "Autumn". This is actually a combination card and tag put together that I had to make for a tag swap.

The base of my Tag/Card was cut on my Cricut using the Sure Cuts Alot program, and an SVG file created by Penny Duncan, at Penny Duncan Creations. On her video, she shows how to print using the cutter she's using, but since my Cricut doesn't print and cut, or at least I don't think it does, I used patterned paper that I had on hand, From the Harvest paper stack by Me & My Big Ideas. After I cut my pieces out, I assembled them according to the directions on Penny's video.

For my embellishments, I added strips of lace from Really Reasonable Ribbon to the top and bottom of the top layer of the tag, and then added  a dimensional sticker from Recollections across the top piece of lace. To hold the layers of my tag together, I made a band by cutting a piece of dark brown card stock at 1" x 6.5", wrapped it around the closed up tag, leaving it loose enough to slip off the tag, then adhered a piece of gold toned ribbon, also from Really Reasonable Ribbon. On top of the ribbon, I added some swirly bling, and some glittered and blinged leaves, that I'm not sure where they came from, because I discarded the packaging long ago.

On the inside layers, I added vellum maple leaf stickers from Sticko, positioning them so that they look like they're floating down the tag. On the bottom layer, I added the poem " Autumn Twilight" by Arthur Symons, that I found on the internet, at Black Cat Poems, that I printed on my computer.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you like my Card/Tag that I made, and if you have the time, please leave me a comment and let me know what you think. I would also like to take this time to thank Penny Duncan for her wonderful  generosity in sharing her beautiful creations, files, and tutorials with us.

Please check out the Card A Day Blog each day for lots of wonderful inspiration, and don't forget to check out our monthly challenge, where we offer one lucky winner a great prize.
