LSH Spring Mini Album

Here are some pictures of a few of the pages from the Spring Mini album swap that I participated in at A Lil Scrap Of Heaven. My partners name is Ree.

I decided to make this album in the shape of a butterfly, because I have been seeing lots of beautiful albums around made in this shape, and I thought it would go well with the theme. There were more pages to this album, but I only posted the ones that I liked the most, since I have lots more catching up to do with all these swaps...lol!

LSH Fairy Garden Album Swap

Ok, it's time to play a little catch up here with some of the swaps that I've been in lately....lol! First up is the Fairy Garden mini album swap that I was in at A Lil Scrap Of Heaven. My partner for this swap was Joanne, who was also the swap hostess.

Here are some pictures of the the album that I made for her.

All of the fairy images I used for this album where from digital stamps that I found from various places on the internet, printed out on my computer, colored them in with my Copic markers, then fussy cut them out. I also used a lot of Spellbinders dies, assorted flowers, ink , embossing powder, and cut up pieces from foliage garland. 

Although I believe this might have been the most time consuming album I've ever done, I really enjoyed making it. I really love fairies and had a lot of fun with this one.

Mojo Monday 300 Celebration: Red, White and Blue

Hi everyone,  Mojo Monday is celebrating their 300th challenge this week, and are giving out lots of fantastic prizes from several paper crafting companies. Here is the sketch to follow for this week's entries

Here is the card that I created using the sketch.

I decided to make my card in red, white, and blue, in honor of the 4th of July. I used my Cuttlebug, and the Paper Studio embossing folder, Tiny Stars, to emboss the solid cardstock pieces, The Spellbinders. Stars Five, smallest star die, and one of the shapes from the Spellbinders Persian Motifs die set.

Card A Day Blog Post: Just For Men

Hi everyone, it's time for another entry from me for the Card A Day Blog. This week's theme is, Just For Men. Here is the card that I made.

To make my card, I started off with a 5.5" x 4.25" white card base. For my background paper, I cut a piece of silver metallic paper from Colorbok at 5.25" x 4", then embossed it with the gears Cuttlebug embossing folder. I then cut a piece of black netting trim from Really Reasonable Ribbon, a little longer than the width of the background paper, adhered it across the middle of it, then adhered the background piece to the card base.

For the panel on the left side of the card, I cut a piece of black cardstock, cut to 2.25" x 5", then cut a piece of  patterned paper from the Die Cut With A View, Rockstar Stack,at 2" x 4.75", and adhered that piece to the solid black piece, then added it to the left side of my card. For the guitar, I cut out one of the guitars in a scrap piece that I had from the same paper stack, and added it to the top of the panel with dimensional tape.

For the star accent on the right side, I cut out a star with black cardstock using the next to the smallest die in the Stars Five Spellbinders die set, then I punched out a star from the metallic paper using the McGill Star Silhouette Punch, and glued that on top of the black star piece. I then attached the star to my card using dimensional tape.

CADB Post: Just Because

Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by. Here is my entry for this weeks theme, "Just Because" on the Card A Day Blog. This one was posted a little late, so it is very simple. Actually it's a makeover of a card I already had, altered to suite the theme.

 

For the original card, I started off with a white 5.5" x 4.25" card base. For my background paper, I used a piece of cream and yellow striped designer paper cut to 5" x 4". I then cut a panel out of a shimmery yellow card stock at 2.75 x 3.25 and added a panel of the rose patterned paper cut 1/2 an inch smaller each way and adhered that to the top of the yellow paper, then added that piece to my card. 

For my label, I cut out a piece from one of the Spellbinders label sets, and stamped my sentiment on top of it in black ink. I then inked the edges of that piece with pink ink. Originally the card had the same exact tag with a different sentiment, so I replaced that one with the new one. I also added a pink paper rose that I had in my stash for an accent.

CADB Post: Home Of The Brave

Hi there, and thanks for stopping by. This week's theme on the Card a Day Blog is, " Our Country's Birthday". Here is the card that I came up with for this theme.

To make my card, I started off with a 5.50" x 4.25" white card base. For my background paper, I embossed a piece of dark blue cardstock paper, cut to 5.25" x 4" using the Assorted Stars embossing folder, by Darice. I then adhered my embossed piece to the front of my card base.

I then added three strips of ribbon from The Paper Studio Patriotic ribbon collection, cut to fit a little over the length of the background paper, so it could be wrapped around the edges of the background paper. I used my ATG tape applicator to adhere the ribbon.

For my star embellishment, I cut out three stars in red, white, and blue, in graduating sizes, embossed them using The Paper Studio Tiny Stars embossing folder, then adhered them stacked on top of each other. For the star on the top of the layers, I used a star sticker from the 3D Stars Dazzles sticker collection from Hot Off The Press. I adhered my star embellishment on to the left side of my card using dimensional tape. 

For my sentiment, I chose a sentiment from the Summertime Designs digital kit, Freedom Aint Free. I printed out the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock to the size I wanted, cut it out, inked the edges with blue ink, then added it to my card.

CADB Post: Birthday Wishes

Hi there, thanks for stopping by. It's time once again for me to post on the Card A Day Blog. This weeks theme is " Birthday".

To make my card, I started off with a 5.5" x 4.25" white card base, then added a piece of pink polka dot paper, cut to 5.25" x 4".

For my image, I stamped a birthday balloon image from "Stampendous", on a piece of white cardstock  using black ink, then cutting it down. To color the balloons, I used " Shimmerz ", the colors that I used were, Evergreen, Royal Red, and Ultra Marine. I used a paintbrush to apply the Shimmerz, and this gave the balloons a shimmery look. For the confetti, I used various different colors of " Smooch " pearlized accent ink, dabbing it on wherever there were dots for the confetti on the stamped image, and adding a few extras. I  inked around the edges with pink ink, then adhered the image to the left hand side of my card.

For my sentiment  I made a label from the Spellbinder die collection, Fancy Framed Tags Two, using white cardstock, then stamped my sentiment on the middle of it using pink ink. I inked the edges of the tag with the same pink ink, then attached it to my card using dimensional tape.

One of the Yahoo groups that I'm in has a birthday club, and I will be sending this card to someone in our group that is having a birthday this month.
