Card A Day Blog Post: Get Well Soon

Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by. It's time again for me to post on the Card A Day Blog. This week's theme is, "Get Well Soon".

To make my card, I started off with a 5.5" x 4.25" white card base, then added a piece of patterned paper cut to 5.25" x 4" to the front of the card. I then cut out a piece of white cards stock at 5.25" x 2", inked the edges using Recollections dye ink pad, Marine, which I also inked my patterned paper with, and adhered it to the middle of the card. Over my white card stock piece, I attached a piece of dark blue card stock cut to 5" x 1 3/4", embossed with my Cuddlbug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder, For my sentiment, I used stamps from the Stamping Scrapping Designs Fancy Accents. I stamped the frame on a piece of white card stock first, using the same recollections ink pad that I used for my inked edges, then stamped the "Get Well Soon" sentiment from the same stamp set, then cut it out around the edge of the frame.

For the label that my sentiment is attached to, I used a die from the Spellbinders die set, Fancy Tags, out of yellow card stock, attached it to the center of my dark blue embossed piece, then adhered the sentiment on top of it using pieces of foam tape, to add dimension. Both die and stamp sets are designed to coordinate together.

I just had to add a little "bling" to my card, as I often do, so I added blue  Round Jewel Dazzles to the corners of my sentiment, and the corners of my card. I just love these little jewels, and I'm finding that I've been using them quite often on a lot of my projects.

I hope you like the card that I've created, and I would love if you leave me a comment. I always love to hear what people think about my creations. Mojo Monday 275

Hi everyone! Here is the sketch for this weeks Mojo Monday contest.

Here is the card I made using the sketch.

To make my card, I used various patterned papers that I had in my stash, and the Spellbinders dies, Picot Edge Circles, and Standard Circles. For my sentiment  I used the "Have a fantastically magical day" stamp from the Birthday Surprise set from Verve stamps. The ribbon is from the Valentine's Mix, 20012 January Really Reasonable Ribbon collection. The flower is from Recollections. I added a dot of Viva Decor to the middle of the flower to make a little pearl accent.

Thanks for popping in and checking out the card I made. I really love the weekly sketches from Mojo Monday. Go check them out, I'm sure you'll love them too.

CADB Post: Hearts and Flowers

Hi everyone, it's a new year for us at the Card A Day Blog. This weeks theme is Valentine's Day, and here is my entry.

To make my card, I had to decide on an image that I want to use, I chose to use a section from the Lovely Layering Collage stamp from Outlines Rubber Stamps. I stamped the image on white card stock, cut out the section I wanted to use, then colored it, using Copic marker colors RV10, R32, R29 and BG34. To frame my image, I cut out a piece with the Lacy Squares die from Spellbinders, with red card stock, the placed my colored image to the left side of the piece. On the right side of the die cut piece, I adhered a piece of ribbon from the January 2012 Really Reasonable Ribbon Club Assortment. I then attached the die cut piece to a piece of white card stock measuring 3.5" x 3.5", then added that to a piece of red card stock cut to approximately 3.75" x 3.75".

To finish up my card front, I cut a piece of  red polka dot paper at 5.25" x 4" , then I placed my framed image to the top of the pattered paper. I then attached a strip of the shear red ribbon from the RRR assortment at approx 1/4 inch from the bottom of the patterned paper, then added a strip of red heart ribbon from American Crafts to the top of that. I then made myself a 5.5" x 4.25" white card base, I then placed my card front to the front of the the card base.

This card was intended to go to Operation Write Home for Valentine's, but I missed the deadline, so I might just send it off with my next shipment, because since it doesn't say Valentine's Day, it can be used for a general love card, or maybe I might put it aside and send it out for next Valentine's Day.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed my latest creation, and if you have the time, please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
