Merry Monday: Snow Globe

Hi everyone! I found this really great blog called Merry Monday, and every Monday, they have a new Christmas card challenge, and I thought I'd give it a whirl! This week's challenge is "Snow Globes", and here is what I made for this theme.

This little reindeer and Christmas tree are from the Mama Elephant, Reindeer Games stamp set, which I absolutely love! I made a quite a few cards last year with this one, and I'm sure I'll be using it a lot this Christmas. When I went to color the reindeer, I started to use my Copic markers, but found that the browns I wanted to use where getting dried out, and I had to switch to colored pencils. I purchased a package of Prisma pencils a while back, but I couldn't find them, so I had to use some of another brand, and I wasn't that crazy with the results, so if I can't find my Prismas, I'll have to get some new ones, because I'm just not crazy about the ones I used.

Anyway...lol! The hill inside my globe was from the Lawn Fawn, Lawn Cuts, Stitched Hillside Borders set. For the snow globe background, I used a snowflake patterned paper that I had in my stash, I added some sequins and confetti that I had in my stash as well. The outside circle for the snow globe was made using the My Favorite Things Die-Namics, Inside And Out Circle die set. I didn't have any snow globe cut files or dies that I could get a base for my globe for, so I looked through some of the other dies I had to see if I could use something else, and I found one from a Spellbinders label set that I thought would work great for the base of the snow globe. The main background patterned paper is from my stash as well.

I have been getting into shaker cards a lot lately, and I really had a great time making this card. I hope to join in on other challenges in the future from this blog. See you next time!

52 Christmas Card Throwdown April Sketch Challenge

Looks like I'm on a roll today...lol! Here is my entry for the April 52 Christmas Card Throwdown using this month's sketch.

For this card I decided to use some supplies that I haven't used in a while, like the ornament stamp set. sometimes it's nice to use some not so traditional colors for Christmas, in this case, pink. I really like the snowflake patterned paper with the pink in it, it adds a little interest to the card. I added a little bling using some red and green Jewel Dazzles which often find their way into a lot of my cards. The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon, one of my favorite places to shop for ribbon.

I wanted to participate in this week's challenge, and I know I'm getting this one just under the wire...lol! I know I am a procrastinator, I plan wholeheartedly to participate in a challenge, and I somehow don't make it most of the time, but this time I made it....lol!

I just recently purchased the Let's Bokeh stamp set by Lawn Fawn, and I decided to experiment around with it a bit, so when I made my card, I incorporate it into my design. I really like this stamp set, and I'm sure I'll get lots of use out of it.

Easter Egg swap

Hello everyone. I know I'm a little late on this one, but that's how things have been going lately..lol! I was just recently in a decorated Easter Egg swap over at A Little Scrap Of Heaven, My partner was Brittany, and here is the cute paper machete egg that she decorated for me. Thank you Brittany, it's really beautiful.

Here is the one that I made for her.

I made mine by hollowing out part of a Styrofoam egg, painted it with white gesso, and coated it with glitter glue. I added strips of ribbon across the sides and back, and attached flower sequence and pearls. I wish I would have took a pic of the back, because you can't see the ribbon. I then added moss inside, and this cute little ceramic bunny that I found at Joanne's just before Easter in the clearance bin, it came in a set of three, so I'll have more to make something with in the future. I added lace and flowers that I had in my stash, and the bow on top, I made with my Bow-It-All. I wanted to have it stand up, so I made a base for it using a strip cut from a cereal box, added pink card stock to it, and lace, then attached it to the bottom.

I really enjoyed making this Easter Egg for Brittany, and I hope she likes it.

52 Christmas Card Throwdown February Sketch Challenge

Hi there, it's time again for another entry in the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, which is a sketch challenge.



Here is my take on this moth's sketch.

This is the second time I have used this guy for a card in a challenge, probably because he's so darn cute. I used a snowflake embossing folder for my background paper, and I used one of the snowflakes and flourishes that came with the snowman set for the panel behind the snowman, the sentiment was from the same set as well. I really had a lot of fun with this card, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.

52 Christmas Card Throwdown!

This weeks challenge for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown site it Christmas candles or lanterns. I didn't have much of anything in my stash that fit this theme that I cared much for, so I went on the hunt for a digi stamp that might work. I managed to find this cute little guy, and a lot more like him at, Kajsans Scrapblogg. She has some of the cutest digi stamps. I plan to acquire more of them in the future.

I colored this little guy with Copic markers, added some ribbon from my stash, and also added some red Jewel Dazzles for a little bling. I just love this little guy, and plan to have fun creating other cards with his little friends.

A Goodbye Gift and Card

Shortly after finishing the stocking for the co-worker mentioned in the precious post, she anounced that her husband was moving out of state, because he was offered a job there. She collects pigs, so I decided to crochet her a little pig for a going away gift, and a card to go with it. I sure hope this little pig likes his new home.

My former co-worker has also found a new job in the area that they moved to, and I wish her and her husband great success in their new lives.
